Dakshum Wildlife Sanctuary

Rajparian Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area located in Daksum, Forest Block, near Anantnag city in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It lies 42 km from Anantnag city, the district headquarter, 85 kilometres south of Srinagar. It spreads over an area of 20 square kilometres.

Rajparian Wildlife Sanctuary was protected as a game reserve for hangul during the Maharaja’s period, prior to 1948. In 1981, it was upgraded to the Rajparian Wildlife Sanctuary. The administrative and technical control vests with the Wildlife Warden, South Kashmir Division (Bijbehara) of Wildlife Protection Department Jammu and Kashmir Government.

 How To Reach 

By Plane

 Nearest airport is Srinagar Airport (SXR), Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. 

By Train

The nearest railhead is at Anantnag.  You can a get a train to Anantnag on regular basis.

By Road

There are regular buses from Srinagar to Anantnag City, Tourists can avail of taxi from srinagar and reach the dakshum wildlife sanctuary in a short while.
